SWISS ALPINE CLUB (SAC)

Peak Punk and the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC) love freedom. And together it's even more fun. Peak Punk is the official caterer of the Expedition Team - yes! But what is the Expedition Team anyway?

The expedition team of the Swiss Alpine Club consists of two groups, a women's team and a men's team. The two teams each consist of 6 men/women who were selected during a 2-day entrance examination. The members are trained over 2 years by mountain guides and other specialists. The aim of this training is to train and promote the ability to be on the move in demanding combined terrain. For this purpose, the team members attend different training modules during two years. The modules include all types of mountaineering (classic mountaineering, bigwall, artif, mixed ice climbing). In the third year, the training is completed with a final expedition where the teams can apply their learned knowledge.

With the expedition team, on the one hand, the members should be individually promoted as young mountaineers and, on the other hand, they should pass on the experiences they have made and the knowledge they have gained to other young people in the SAC sections and thus act as role models. The promotion of mountaineering among young people is among the most important tasks of the SAC.
